Dr. Eulalia D'Souza DNP, MS, APRN, FNP-BC is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Health and a graduate of Columbia University in NY City where she received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau Society. Dr. D'Souza is an Associate Professor at Columbia University where she lectures at the School of Nursing. She also practices at New York-Presbyterian Hospital as an acute care Nurse Practitioner in the Coronary Care Unit.
Dr. D'Souza's professional experience in healthcare spans over 25 years in NYC, where she started as an acute care RN in the intensive care unit, followed by an NP for the last 12 years. During this time she has treated patients with acute and chronic health conditions. An important lesson she has learned over time is that Prevention trumps Cure. It is better to prevent chronic diseases from occurring than is to control them.
Her philosophy is a holistic personalized approach to health and wellbeing. She believes that 'Health is not the mere absence of disease; rather it is about wholesome living. Eating healthy, engaging in physical activity, managing stress, and having a positive outlook on life'
